
Admissions/Will Call - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 3): Sell and issue daily tickets, manage Will Call function and check tickets/credentials at admissions gates. Manage tech check; utilizing a "coat check" system, all cell phones, pagers and noise-making devices will be checked.
Caddie Hospitality - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 1b): Handle caddie registration, distribution and collection of caddie bibs and provide information as needed. Volunteers on this committee will not serve as caddies during the championship.
Communications/Equipment Distribution - COMMITTEE FULL (1a): Operates a communications network monitoring all championship activities. This committee is responsible for the daily set-up and distribution of radios and cell phones.
Construction - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Perform miscellaneous construction not provided by vendors. Most work to be done pre-championship.
Corporate Hospitality - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Act as liaison and host to corporate clients in various hospitality areas.
Course Evacuation - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Drive evacuation vans with players, caddies, officials and scoring volunteers from course to clubhouse during a suspension of play. Must be 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Disability Services - COMMITTEE FULL(1a, 3): Provide disabled spectators transportation to and from shuttle, from drop-off and designated viewing areas. Assist with distribution of complimentary scooter carts.
Future Sites - COMMITTEE FULL Assist with transportation for representatives of future USGA championship sites. Provide information; serve as host in hospitality areas; coordinate on-site tours, meetings, presentations and breakout sessions with executive committee and guests.
Golf Carts - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 1b, 3): Control inventory and distribution of golf carts to authorized personnel.
Leaderboards - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Operate manual leaderboards and thru-boards at various sites throughout the course and post information received via handheld computer. May have to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.
Marshals - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Serve as a marshal to ensure players are not disturbed during play and enforce crowd control and golf etiquette among spectators.
Member Services - COMMITTEE FULL: Facilitate ongoing communication between the members of Sahalee Country Club and the championship staff. Ensure that members of Sahalee Country Club and their guests are welcomed to the championship and provided with a variety of hospitality services throughout the week.
Merchandise - COMMITTEE FULL: Assist with various functions inside Merchandise Pavilion such as operating cash registers and customer service. Staff "Check Tent" for spectators to leave parcels that have been purchased in Merchandise Pavilion.
Office Administration - COMMITTEE FULL (1b): Assist with clerical work, answering phones, various public relations initiatives, and greeting visitors in Championship Office. Computer skills are recommended for this committee. Volunteers begin working in advance of the championship.
Practice Facilities - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 3): Manage and control operation of driving range, chipping and putting greens. Provide practice balls to players and place name placard behind each player’s station. It is recommended that volunteers on this committee be in good physical condition.
Scoreboards - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Post players' names and update pairings on practice boards during practice rounds. Post hole-by-hole scores on public boards during championship rounds.
Supplies - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 3): Stock and deliver on-course refreshments to tee boxes and distribute pairing sheets and programs daily. May require heavy lifting.
VIP / Player Access Control - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Work in conjunction with Corporate Hospitality committee and the contracted security company to ensure championship guests have the proper credentials to enter various restricted areas.
VIP Transportation - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 1b, 2): Receive, inventory and control issuance of courtesy cars. Meet players, USGA officials and designated guests at airport and assist them with their transportation needs. Drive shuttle vehicles between hotels and course for players' family members, USGA officials and designated guests. Must be over 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Volunteer Headquarters - COMMITTEE FULL (1a): Responsible for the operation of the volunteer hospitality tent during Championship Week.
Volunteer Training & Uniforms - COMMITTEE FULL: Oversee uniform exchange for volunteers prior to championship. Manage distribution and sale of remaining volunteer uniform inventory during championship week. Assist with preparations for volunteer training sessions during month prior to championship.
Walking Scorers - COMMITTEE FULL (3): Record accurate hole-by-hole scores and statistics for each player in group and transmit this information to Scoring Central via handheld computer. Must have thorough knowledge of golf, be comfortable working with handheld computer and physically able to walk 18 holes at a steady pace regardless of weather conditions.
Welcome/Information Center - COMMITTEE FULL (1a, 3): Welcome spectators, provide general information and distribute daily pairing sheets. Collect and hold lost & found items.
Notes:
1a. Morning shifts may begin as early as 5:30am.
1b. Evening shifts may end as late as 9:00pm.
2. This committee is operational for approximately 10 days; before, during and after the championship.
3. Assignment is outdoors, perhaps in the sun and heat.
